Originally, the membership of ASEAN Federation of Mining Associations (AFMA) was opened only to national mining chambers or associations of the respective ASEAN countries.
The Constitution was later amended to allow other mineral-related organisations within and outside ASEAN to join AFMA as a member.
Membership is expected to increase with the relaxation of restricting membership to only national mining chambers/associations.
